The Grenoble University Hospital Center in France reports that Michael Schumacher is currently in critical condition after experiencing head trauma from a skiing accident. Schumacher arrived to the hospital in a coma and reportedly underwent brain surgery.
Schumacher's manager Sabine Kehm reported to The Associated Press that the incident occured while Schumacher was on a private skiing trip. He was wearing a helmet at the time, skiing along with his 14 year old son in the French Alps earlier this Sunday.
Gerald Sallant, an orthopedia and trauma surgeon, travelled from Paris to the hospital in order to examine Schumacher's state. This is the same surgeon that performed on Schumacher after he had sustained injuries from breaking his leg in a crash on the Silverstone race course back in 1999.
