As Porsche plans its 2014 endurance assault at Le Mans, the German automaker will unveil its 919 Hybrid prototype racer and 911 RSR GT to the public at the Geneva Motor Show. It is expected the new livery for the 919 will also be announced.
Utilizing an innovative 2.0L V4 hybrid powertrain with a lithium-ion battery pack, the 919 is as much a test lab as it is Le Mans challenger. Porsche is hoping its new car will end the reign of Audi dominance with its R18 e-tron at the upcoming 24 hour race.
The 911 RSR made its track debut earlier this year at the Rolex 24 at Daytona, where it is competing in the full season of the new Tudor United SportsCar Championship. It will also be racing alongside the 919 Hybrid for the full eight-round World Endurance Championship season.
The press conference premiere will take place on March 4, 2014 at 8:20 am CET at the Porsche stand at Geneva. The conference will also be broadcast live on the Internet at www.porsche.com/mission2014.
