This weekend July 21-24 marks the American Le Mans Series Presented by Tequila Patron Mobil 1 Grand Prix of Mosport located in Bomanville, Ontario.

The 21-year old Barrie, Ontario native will continue his role with Intersport Racing piloting the #89, this time, alongside American driver Chapman Ducote. The duo last had success together winning in their European Le Mans Series debut just two weeks ago in Bologna, Italy at the famed Imola race circuit. The two will be looking to repeat again, this time on Canadian soil.

"Mosport will always have a special place in my heart. I grew up watching the American Le Mans Series each year as they came to town, getting pictures with the cars and drivers. To now play a full time role with Intersport Racing and American Le Mans is a dream come true. I’m certainly looking forward to seeing and talking to many familiar faces but will quickly need to put on the business hat as this is a job. Chapman and I will certainly be seeking another win," Marcelli said.

"If I had to select my favorite venue on the ALMS calendar it is definitely Mosport. The track is fast and flowing with very little room for error.  I really enjoy racing there. As far as teammates, I feel I have never been paired better than with Kyle. Our driving style and approach to data is similar and our success together has been some of the best of my racing career," said Ducote

Mosport International Raceway is located only two hours from Marcelli’s home in Barrie, Ontario. With the excitement of local fans, promotional events for Marcelli will get underway on Wednesday July 20th as he and other selected drivers from the American Le Mans Series will be downtown Toronto at Yonge & Dundas Square autographs. Pit-Stop demonstrations will also be taking place with GM’s Corvette Racing as well as Aston Martin’s Muscle Milk Racing.

On-Track activities begin Friday with official testing then into qualifying which will take place Saturday afternoon all leading up to the 2 hour 45 minute Mobil 1 Grand Prix of Mosport on Sunday, July 24th with the green flag at 3:00pm EST.

Kyle would personally like to thank his corporate partners: Lafarge (Turbo), DynaPep Energy (7/11), Barrie Trim & Mouldings, Simcoe Building Centre, Thermo Seal Insulation Systems, Braille Battery, Merchant Services Ltd, Sailun Tire, Spherion Staffing Solutions, 104.1 The Dock, Leaf Racewear and Intersport Racing.
