Hankook Tire Canada Corp. announced this week it will be an event sponsor of the 2013 IIHF Ice Hockey Women’s World Championship, taking place April 2-9 in Ottawa, Ont. The event sponsorship allows Hankook Tire Canada to extend its existing relationship with hockey in Canada.

“Hankook Tire Canada is excited to further engage with the hockey community across Canada through the sponsorship of the 2013 IIHF Ice Hockey Women’s World Championship,” said Bill Hume, vice-president of Hankook Tire Canada Corp. “Women’s hockey is an exciting part of the Canadian sports landscape and we’re very pleased to be giving back to those that play the game and promote the teams.”

The event sponsorship is an addition of Hankook Tire Canada’s recently-signed, three-year marketing agreement with Hockey Canada and grants the company exclusivity rights in the tire category at all 2013 IIHF Ice Hockey Women’s World Championship games.

The 2013 IIHF Ice Hockey Women’s World Championship sponsorship includes ice level, rinkboard and ice resurfacing signage throughout the eight-day event. The agreement also allows for prominent video board features and power ring messaging during games. Hankook Tire Canada will also be a sponsor of ancillary special events held throughout the championship.
