To commemorate Ford Motor Company founder Henry Ford's 150th birthday, the state of Michigan has announced this July 30, 2013 to be "Henry Ford Day."
Celebrations kick off tomorrow (Saturday) at Henry and Clara Ford's One Fair Lane Drive home in Dearborn, Michigan, when ownership of the home will be transfered to the Henry Ford Estate, Inc. The nonprofit organization is tied to the Edsel & Eleanor Ford House and involved in educational initiatives throughout the U.S.
The event will be open to the public July 27 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., with a short presentation by key members of the family and business, along with vehicle displays, music, and a locally-supported farmers market to commemorate Henry Ford's interest in agriculture.
