The Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo North America will feature the largest field in its history, including American Formula One veteran Scott Speed, when the exciting 2014 season continues with two rounds June 27-28 at historic Watkins Glen International.
The North American series, in its second season, will compete at the iconic circuit in the scenic Finger Lakes region of upstate New York for the first time with a record grid of 17 cars. The 11-turn, 3.4-mile layout includes "The Boot," one of the most famous turn complexes in North American racing.
Two 50-minute races are scheduled for competitors in the incredible Lamborghini Gallardo LP 570-4 Super Trofeo cars, which are powered by a 570-horsepower V10 engine and feature permanent four-wheel drive.
Race One is scheduled for 4:10 p.m. (local time) Friday, June 27, with Race Two scheduled for 5:30 p.m. Saturday, June 28. Practice will take place Thursday, June 26, with qualifying Friday, June 27.
The Lamborghini Gallardo LP 570-4 Super Trofeo car is the ultimate single-make race car and the only four-wheel drive GT racer in the world. The 570-horsepower, V10 Gallardo LP 570-4 features impressive technology such as paddle shift E-gear transmission, Öhlins race shocks, Brembo brakes, a carbon fiber aerodynamic package that includes a rear wing with 10 adjustable positions, MTA data acquisition, air jacks, center wheel locks and more.
Lamborghini and Blancpain will provide world-class hospitality this weekend for clients and guests of Lamborghini dealers and of the Manufacture of Le Brassus from throughout the Northeast and New England. Guests also can participate in the IMSA Hot Lap Experience, high-speed rides around the Watkins Glen circuit in a Lamborghini Aventador LP 700-4.
The exciting new Huracán LP 610-4 also will be displayed throughout the weekend in the Lamborghini Village at the circuit.
The Asian Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo championship resumes Aug. 30-31 at the Fuji Speedway in Oyama, Japan.
