Audi has been showcasing iterations of their Prologue design series for some time now. The first version started with the coupe concept unveiled at the LA autoshow, followed by the Prologue Avant Wagon back at the Geneva Auto Show. This third iteration, the Prologue Allroad, is a more rugged influence to the design.

The Prologue Allroad is longer than the previous two concepts, stretched to the same length as the Audi A8 in standard wheelbase form. This new model is also the tallest of the three, which is standard for the Allroad models. The engine is more powerful, fitted with a 4.0L twin-turbo V8 along with a hybrid powertrain, connected to an eight-speed automatic transmission. The combined output is a monstrous 738 horsepower and 664 pound-feet of torque, which is able to propel the Prologue Allroad to 100 km/h in only 3.5 seconds. To charge the electric motors, Audi is providing an inductive charging system that is also planned to be put into production.

The exterior is a sight to behold, including unique features such as door lock sensors built directly into the window frame, Matrix laser headlights and large 22-inch wheels and 20-inch carbon ceramic brake discs. Handling is optimized using adaptive air suspension and four-wheel adaptive steering. Inside, the interior gives the impression of a floating OLED dashboard with inset displays forming the instrument cluster. The dark blue, beige, and brown tints further enhance the Prologue Allroad's elegant experience.

The Prologue Allroad is rumoured to transition into a production model as the next A6 Allroad. The car will be officially shown on April 20th at the Shanghai Auto Show.
