Montreal native Alex Tagliani (pictured, left) won the pole for the Chevrolet Silverado 250, NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race with a time of 1:20.558, driving the #19 Reese Towpower Ford. The 41-year-old, who is making his Truck Series debut this weekend, will be joined on the front row by Gray Gaulding in the #20 Chevrolet Silverado. Erik Jones will start third.
In NASCAR Canadian Tire Series qualifying, two-time series champion Andrew Ranger of Roxton Pond, QC (pictured, right) set the pace for the Pinty’s presents the Clarington 200 with a fast lap of 1:23.261. J.R. Fitzpatrick of Ayr, ON, who was winner of the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series race at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park in May, will start second.
The Ultra 94 Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge Canada by Michelin held their first race of a Saturday/Sunday doubleheader. Scott Hargrove was the winner in Platinum Cup, securing the championship. Tim Sanderson finished first in Gold Cup and Chuck Harris was victorious in Silver Cup.
In Canadian Touring Car Championship action, Gary Kwok took the checkered flag in Super Touring, Damon Sharpe was first in Touring and Normand Boyer won in B-Spec.
Sunday's schedule begins with a race for the Canadian Touring Cars and will be followed by the Pinty’s presents the Clarington 200 at 10 am. The Chevrolet Silverado gets the green flag at 1:30 pm.
