Mercedes-Benz premiered the SLS AMG Black Edition to the world at the LA Auto Show, taking hints from the intimidating and track-ready SLS AMG GT3. Tipping the scales at just 1,550 kg, it is not only 70 kg lighter, but it also produces 631 hp from the 6.3-litre V8, for a zero-to-100 time of just 3.6 seconds.

Combined with newly designed sports tires, lightweight forged alloys are paired with AMG Ride Control Performance Suspension, an electronically-controlled AMG rear axle and the enhanced AMG SpeedShift DCT seven-speed transmission.

While Canadian pricing hasn’t been announced, the SLS AMG Black Edition will be available in Europe in summer 2013 with a price of €249,900. We wait with anticipation.
