TSN's 2012 NASCAR Broadcast Schedule Unveiled

Photo by Chris Graythen/Getty Images for NASCARFrom green flag to checkered flag, TSN and TSN2 hit the track once again with coverage of every single race from the 2012 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series and 2012 NASCAR Nationwide Series, including live coverage of NASCAR’s biggest, richest and most prestigious race, the Daytona 500.

TSN and TSN2’s complete package of NASCAR Sprint Cup and NASCAR Nationwide Series races kicks off with live coverage of the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Budweiser Shootout on Saturday, Feb. 18 at 8 p.m. ET on TSN2. Along with the Daytona 500, highlights of TSN and TSN2’s 2012 NASCAR schedule include the Sprint Cup: Gatorade Duel at Daytona on Thursday, Feb. 23 at 2 p.m. ET on TSN2, which determines the starting grid for Sunday’s championship race, and the NASCAR Nationwide Series’ annual stop in Montreal on Aug. 18 at 2 p.m. ET on TSN.

In addition to its exclusive broadcast coverage of all NASCAR events, TSN operates NASCAR Canada, which manages all sponsorships and licensing opportunities in Canada for NASCAR, including the Daytona 500.

Daytona 500

Known as “The Great American Race,” the Daytona 500 features 43 of the best stock car drivers in the world competing for the Harley J. Earl Trophy. TSN2 has live coverage of NASCAR’s premiere event on Sunday, Feb. 26 at 12 noon ET.

Chris Myers hosts coverage of the Daytona 500 alongside brothers and past Daytona 500 champs Darrell and Michael Waltrip from Daytona International Speedway. Race announcer Mike Joy calls the lap-by-lap action with analysis from Darrell Waltrip and former champion crew chief Larry McReynolds. Analyst and former championship-winning crew chief Jeff Hammond returns to cover the action in the garages and on pit road with fellow pit road reporters Dick Berggren, Steve Byrnes, Matt Yocum and Krista Voda.

ESPN Classic

ESPN Classic also gears up for The Great American Race with its Daytona 500 Weekend featuring vintage thrills and spills from some of the biggest names in NASCAR at Daytona International Speedway. The two-day event from Friday, Feb. 24 to Saturday, Feb. 25 revisits some of the most memorable races in Daytona 500 history, including Jeff Gordon’s first Daytona win and Richard Petty’s seventh and final win at the historic speedway.
