Coming off two historic rounds of competition at Watkins Glen International, the IMSA GT3 Cup Challenge by Yokohama heads north to Canada's "Home of Motorsports" for the Mobil 1 SportsCar Grand Prix featuring the American Le Mans Series. Participants take the track at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park Friday, July 19 for two practice sessions and qualifications.

Many drivers have raced at the 2.459-mile asphalt road course, but of those returning from last year, Michael Mills placed the highest in 2012, with two third-place finishes at the 10-turn facility. The EFFORT Racing driver is currently fourth in the points standings, just three ticks behind NGT Motorsport's Angel Benitez, Jr.. who took the checkered in the 100th GT3 Cup race at The Glen on June 29.

In addition to celebrating the 100th GT3 Cup Race at Watkins Glen, history followed again with Ashley Frieberg's victory in the 101st race. With her first win of the season, Freiberg became the first female overall North American GT3 Cup Challenge winner. She also snagged the outright lead in the Platinum Cup standings, with 96 points.

Madison Snow who has won twice this year, is on her heels in second place just four points behind her.

SpeedMerchants drivers David Ostella and Anthony Mantella  join the US series again after making appearances at Watkins Glen. The two Canadians will also be running in their own primary Canadian GT3 Cup Challenge series.

In the Masters Championship, the competition is just as intense. Craig Duerson and Kasey Kuhlman each have three wins this season and Kuhlman leads with 101 total points, followed by Duerson with 100. Duerson walked away with a round six victory at The Glen, while Kuhlman notched the round five win. Kuhlman placed fourth last year at the Canadian Tire Motorsport Park.

Mosport has hosted just about every class of road racing and will host two more IMSA Development Series in addition to the IMSA GT3 Cup Challenge by Yokohama Series, with the Ultra 94 Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge Canada by Michelin and Cooper Tires Prototype Lites Powered by Mazda Series.

Round seven of the 2013 season kicks off at 1:20 p.m. ET for a 45-minute sprint Saturday, July 20. The green flag will drop for the second race at Mosport Sunday, July 21 at 3:15 p.m. ET. For live updates follow @GT3Challenge  on Twitter or on Facebook.
