Korea welcomes first Ferrari Challenge Race

Korea hosts the fourth race of the 2013 Ferrari Challenge Asia Pacific series, marking the first time the event has been held in Korea. The green flag is set to drop on August 2nd at Inje Speedium.

The 2013 season of the Ferrari Challenge Asia Pacific series kicked off this year in Abu Dhabi, UAE in March, with subsequent races held in Suzuka, Japan in April and Shanghai, China in June. The Korean leg is the fourth of seven races.

In the Trofeo Pirelli category, Tack-sung Kim of Ferrari Korea will be looking to win for the first time in this class. Having moved to the Trofeo Pirelli class this year after he made his debut in the 2011 Coppa Shell class. He took his first win in 2011 at Shanghai, the first of the driver’s three victories, which include the 2012 Challenges in Suzuka and Singapore.

Meanwhile, there is a cutthroat competition between two drivers, Max Blancardi from Monaco and Keita Sawa from Japan, in the International class. Each round the two fierce competitors vie for another international class trophy to add to their every growing collections.

The classes will race together in two races taking place on Saturday and Sunday at the state of the art Korean track.
