Lexus will premiere a racing concept of its “RC F” sports coupe, the “RC F GT3 concept”, at the 84th Geneva International Motor Show, to be held in Geneva, Switzerland from March 4 to March 16, 2014.

The RC F GT3 concept, developed to meet Group GT3 international racing standards, weighs just 1,250 kg and comes with a modified version of the base RC F’s V8 engine, producing a maximum output exceeding 540 horsepower.

Lexus will supply GT3-compliant vehicles to racing teams starting in 2015, with vehicle testing to start this year. GT3 cars can enter many races around the world, such as the 24 Hours of Nürburgring endurance race in Germany and the Super Taikyu Endurance and Super GT series in Japan.

Lexus is increasing its motorsports activities to increase the opportunities for car enthusiasts and customers to experience the excitement of motorsports all over the world. It is part of a collection of lifestyle activities that builds on the brand campaign slogan of “Amazing in Motion”. Other initiatives, such as the Lexus Design Award and Lexus Short Films demonstrate how, along with motorsports, Lexus is speaking to and reaching new audiences.
