The instructors of the AISA Academy have been working together since 1998 and have reunited to offer the absolute best amateur motorsports training in Canada. The two-and-a-half day school is aimed at improving on-track driving for drivers of any skill level. Experienced racers even take our course to clean off the rust at the beginning of the season. The school features in-class instruction as well as many hours of track exercises.
Our comprehensive and progressive curriculum provides a solid base to build on, allowing you to progress at a comfortable pace. You will be amazed at the level of understanding and competence your driving will elevate to, all in a safe and controlled environment.
Each student uses her or his own car for the exercises. The comprehensive curriculum includes:
- driving in tight groups (vision)
- driving position (including body and hand position)
- heel & toe and downshifting
- threshold braking, acceleration and their subtleties
- ideal racing line and car control at the limit
- passing (under braking, acceleration, drafting, etc.)
- physics involved in a race car
- mental aspect (racecraft)
- how to listen to and feel your car
- race start simulations, flags, security and event officials
Our revamped manual is the most complete and professional in North America. Our mix of amateur and professional racers and seaseoned instructors make up the best and most diverse team around, with two to three students per teacher assure the best results.
We teach precision and awareness of your racing environment. Once mastered, the technique of speed comes quite easily. Speed and safety are the rewards of profound awareness of your environment.
Our 1,300 student drivers in 12 years come from all walks of life and have trusted the Academy for their driver training. Many of our students return for a second and third time to polish their skills.
For students looking for accreditation for motorsport events, AISA offers an in depth program depending on previous experience. Motorsport is a serious activity and we ensure our graduates have adequate abilities to manage a competitive environment and drive safely.
Alumni of our Academy have won “rookie of the year” in most of the solo-sport championships, including Touring, GT, F1600 and Echo Cup with FSAQ and CASC-OR.
The AISA Race Academy is accredited by ASN-Canada-FIA and ASQ to grant wheel-to-wheel road race licenses as well as Time Attack licenses. Our crew has been working together since the 90’s and will make your on-track experience a memorable one.
