The 2011 calendar will once again feature 18 rounds, but the season will begin three weeks earlier than it did in 2010. The Japan and Portugal dates have been moved from the back half to the early part of the schedule. Aragon - which debuted in 2010 - will remain on the schedule, but due to construction delays, the Balatonring (Hungary) circuit didn't make the cut. It is not known whether or not the circuit will host a round in 2012.
