With the American Le Mans Series, presented by Tequila Patrón wrapping up its 2011 season with the 14th Annual Petit Le Mans this weekend, the Series has announced that the 2012 date for the Mobil 1 presents the Grand Prix of Mosport will be the July 20 weekend.Mosport’s round will give Series participants a much welcomed two-week break until the next event at Mid-Ohio, August 4.
The 11-race schedule starts March 17 with the 60th anniversary of the Mobil 1 - 12 Hours of Sebring and closes at Road Atlanta, October 20 with the 15th running of the Petit Le Mans. The remaining events feature a familiar mix of North America’s best permanent road courses and high-profile street circuits.
“We’re really pleased that Mosport has again landed a coveted summer date on the 2012 American Le Mans Series presented by Tequila Patrón schedule,” said Mosport’s president and general manager, Myles Brandt.
“I think our move to a new July date last season proved to be successful. With the 2012 date remaining in July, our fans and corporate partners can mark that date on their calendars now and start making plans to be at Mosport.”
