On Oct. 14-16, Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca will play host to the world’s largest gathering of Porsche race cars and drivers: the Porsche Rennsport Reunion IV. The ALMS will join Porsche in this celebration to tell its part in Porsche motorsports story.

Sponsored by Porsche Cars North America, Rennsport Reunion IV brings together an unprecedented gathering of significant Porsche vintage and current race cars, as well those who drove them to victory in the world’s most famous sports car races. The lineup includes current ALMS Porsche factory drivers and members of Flying Lizard Motorsports Jörg Bergmeister and Patrick Long, plus Team Falken Tire’s Wolf Henzler. The three-day program of on-track competition is complemented by a concours d’elegance, which is open to invited race participants, and special activities celebrating the decades-long history of the legendary 911 race cars.

The ALMS will be present in the main competitor paddock with its Official Rapid Response Vehicle, the Cayenne Turbo, and Official Safety Car, the Panamera Turbo. Inside the ALMS display, fans can relive Porsche’s significance within the Series through a photographic history of the German marque’s achievements. Additionally, guests can enter to win a VIP experience to the 2012 American Le Mans Series Monterey presented by Patrón.

With more than 200 cars entered and approximately 180 of Porsche’s silver race cars from the 1950s and 1960s on display at nearby Quail Lodge on Sunday, Rennsport Reunion IV is a can’t-miss event for Porsche and sports car enthusiasts. Porsche recently announced Jerry Seinfeld and Norbert Singer, the only Porsche race engineer who contributed to each one of the company’s 16 overall Le Mans victories, as the Grand Marshals. Rennsport Reunion IV also will provide a sneak peek at the new 911, which will make its official North American debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show in November. The current model Porsche 911 Turbo is already a member of the ALMS Vitesse program.
