Lotus driver Kimi Raikkonen and Red Bull's Mark Webber both recieved word they will no longer be taking part in Silverstone testing this week. Raikkonen, who was originally slotted to participate in the Friday session, was pulled in the wake of Lotus development tests. The team felt his services would be under used, and will have development driver Nicholas Prost take his place instead.
Meanwhile, Webber has been told to relinquish his spot for tomorrow’s session after Toro Rosso driver Daniel Ricciardo was bumped from his scheduled time today. Instead, Antonio Felix da Costa will drive the entirety of Red Bull’s young drivers testing today.
Webber was originally planned to test the new Pirelli tires Thursday, but Ricciardo will take over those duties in what has been speculated as a test run for a possible seat with the team next year.
Sebastian Vettel and GP3 driver Carlos Sainz will take part in Red Bull tests on Friday.
