The John Cooper Works MINI has proven to be a success in the Canadian marketplace, appealing to motorsport enthusiasts by building onto what already makes the MINI a special car. It stands to reason that MINI would continue to offer the JCP version, with this new concept paving the way for a future model.
MINI hasn't revealed much in terms of performance figures, considering that the JCP concept is set to be unveiled at the Detroit Auto Show, but the images they've provided showcase how the JCP is further set apart from the standard Cooper.
The JCP concept emphasizes on red accents featured throughout the car, contrasted against the grey paintjob the John Cooper Works models are known for. New 18-inch alloy wheels make an appearance, as well as an upgraded aero kit that makes the concept appear even sportier. The fog lights have been replaced for larger air intakes, as well as a rear diffuser insert takes the stage at the rear bumper. Further design changes include LED headlamps, a black framed grille, as well as a roof mounted spoiler.
Although images of the engine bay and the interior haven't been previewed, considering the Detroit Motor Show is a little more than a month away, these images will have to do. For now.
