Although the Maserati GranTurismo is cherished within the motoring world for its appearance and performance credibility, the design of the car is beginning to appear outdated when compared to the automaker's rivals. It appears that Maserati isn't worried at all after introducing to the world its latest concept, the Alfieri. To celebrate the marque's 100th anniversary, the new Alfieri brings along a new design language to Maserati, which looks striking.
Considering that recent Maserati models have all been introduced in sedan form (Ghibli and the redesigned Quattroporte), we are delighted to see that the Alfieri has a 2+2 configuration, especially since the wheelbase is shorter than the GranTurismo's by 9.5 inches.
If you're upset with the fact that the car you see here is only a concept, don't feel dismayed, as Maserati says this design is "opening a door to the future of Maserati", meaning there is a good chance the Alfieri will appear as a future model in the coming years.
