The Toronto Indy is on this weekend and the Pirelli World Challenge Series is one of several North American racing series' that are in town to share the track with the Mayor of Hinchtown and his IndyCar rivals. I caught up with K-PAX Racing, which competes in the PWC's GT class against cars like the Audi R8 LMS Ultra, Bentley Continental GT3, Cadillac CTS-V, Dodge Viper SRT GT3-R, Ferrari 458 GT3 Italia, Lambo Gallardo FL2, Mercedes SLS AMG GT3 and Porsche 911 GT3R.

Along with Johnny O'Connel in his Cadillac Racing CTS-V R racecar and SRT Motorsports driver Kuno Wittmer in a SRT Viper TA, K-PAX Racing driver Robert Thorne took to the 2.5-km Toronto street circuit to show off the car to local media on a track he'd never driven before this day. You know what? He did amazing on Friday in qualifying, after defeating the steering wheel gremlins he encountered during these recon laps! With an average speed of 144.464 km/h (89.766 mph), the 24-year-old Littleton, Colorado native even qualified in eighth out of 23 cars with a 1:10.383 lap time. Canadian Kuno Wittmer landed his second front row start in as many weeks after laying down a 1:09.607 lap in a Dodge Viper SRT GT3-R.
