OMP Racing and Castrol Honda World Touring Car Team partner up for 2013 FIA WTCC

Castrol Honda World-Touring Car Team

OMP the Italian company, leader in design and creation of accessories and components for the world of car racing, and JAS Motorsport's Castrol Honda World Touring Car Team have signed an exclusive partnership for the 2013 FIA World Touring Car Championship (WTCC) in the touring category.

On March 24, starting date for the 2013 WTCC with the first trial scheduled on the Italian circuit at Monza, and for all 12 races on the program, the vehicles and pilots of the official Castrol Honda World Touring Car Team will be using safety equipment designed and made at the Ronco Scrivia factory, just outside Genoa.

In detail, the agreement provides for supplying safety equipment (seats, seatbelts, steering wheels, extinguishing system) for the two Honda Civics of the Japanese team and the technical gear (race suits, underwear, gloves, shoes) for Tiago Monteiro and Gabriele Tarquini, the Honda pilots competing this year in the WTCC.

During the championship the super-new OMP seatbelts in Dyneema® will also make their WTCC debut aboard the two Honda team cars. The synthetic fiber Dyneema® is extremely light, and 15 times more resistant with steel traction.

The Italian company holds a worldwide exclusive for use of this material in motorsports.
