Aluminator Stage3 PR

The relationship between ROUSH and Ford Racing goes back over 40 years. With ROUSH currently campaigning three NASCAR® Sprint® Cup® teams, two NASCAR Nationwide® teams, and two Grand Am® teams, all running Ford Racing engines, it was only a matter of time before ROUSH Performance and Ford Racing teamed up on an engine program for ROUSH built street Mustangs.

ROUSH FORD RACING SEMA PRROUSH Performance and Ford Racing have collaborated on an engine to compliment ROUSH Performance’s 2014 Stage 3 Mustang program. The Ford Racing 5.0L DOHC Aluminator crate engine is now an optional powertrain upgrade on any manual transmission Stage 3 Mustang. By upgrading many of the internal cast components, a new level of robustness and durability has been added to the powertrain. Upgraded materials include 11.0:1 compression ratio Mahle® forged aluminum pistons that are hard anodized with Graphal low friction coating, premium Manley® H-beam forged steel connecting rods with ARP 2000 bolts, BOSS 302 high performance connecting rod bearings, and BOSS 302 valve springs. With these upgraded performance components mated to the production lightweight aluminum cylinder block, large rear sump 8 quart oil pan with optimized oil drainback and windage tray the result is a foundation for building long lasting power. “The Aluminator engine is designed and engineered to hold up to the added power of forced induction. It is a perfect optional upgrade for the Roush Mustang” says George Goddu, Ford Racing Business Manager.

ROUSH Performance’s Stage 3 comes standard with a supercharged 5.0L-4v TiVCT powertrain, pumping out 575 horsepower. “The new Ford Racing 5.0L Aluminator upgrade option is targeted at customers that crave more power and will use the Aluminator as a building block to upgrade to ROUSH’s 625 horsepower Phase 2 or 675 horsepower Phase 3 powertrain in the future” says Tim Wheeler, ROUSH Performance VP, Sales & Marketing.
