The picturesque Cobble Beach Golf Links Resort is prepared for this weekend's inaugural Cobble Beach Concours d'Elegance, set to become Canada's premiere vintage and sports car showcase when it opens to fans this Saturday morning.
The 574-acre, 18-hole course will welcome 111 cars in 16 classes that include various class and show winners from the esteemed Amelia Island and Pebble Beach Concours events.
Highlighting the list of world-class judges are Pebble Beach Chief Class Judge John Carlson, historian and Cheif Judge Paul Sable, and honourary Co-Chair and hobby race car driver Jason Priestly, most famous for his role in television's 90210.
Saturday begins with a four-hour rally throughout the Owen Sound area, before the cars are brought to the course for the main event. The vehicle roster includes Gilles Villeneuve's 1978 Ferrari 312T3 that brought him to his first F1 victory, a 1956 Maserati 200SI, a 1934 Pierce Arrow (winner of Pebble Beach Best in Show), and a rare 1949 Cadillac Concept Coupe de Ville, among many others.
Proceeds for the show will go towards building a state-of-the-art helicopter pad for the Toronto Sunnybrook hospital. Tickets range from $25 per person to $75 family passes (2 adults, 4 children under 16). VIP packages start at $250. For more information, visit CobbleBeachConcours.com.
